Climate/Best Time
Pushkar experiences extremes of weather throughout the year. Mercury keeps soaring between 20 º C to 45 º C in the summers. It dips down to 5 º C to 6 º C in the winter. Best time to visit this city is between October to March.

» Pushkar Fair
Pushkar FairThousands of devotees gather around Pushkar Lake on one full moon day of October- November (Kartik Purnima, according to Hindu calender) to take the holy dip. Pushkar Fair, which is famous for it's Camel trading and other traditional celebrations is also held during this auspicious time of the year. The fair is held over a period of seven days.

» The Temples
Though most of the temples at Pushkar were ruined by Aurangazeb, a Mughal Emperor; this pilgrimage has some of the rare temples in India. One of the rare temple dedicated to Brahma is one of the highlights of the town. Myth says that Brahma personally choose Pushkar as one of his seats.

» The Ghats
Pilgrims constantly take bath in the lake's holy waters. The tourists willing to join them are advised to follow specific instructions while doing so.


Getting There
Jaipur is the nearest airport from Pushkar which is well-linked with almost all the major tourist destinations of India including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Jodhpur. Nearest railway station from Pushkar is at Ajmer which is a major railheads with the regular trains from all the major railway stations of India. This holy city is just 11 km from main Ajmer bus stand. Regular bus service is operated from Jaipur to Ajmer every 15 minutes.
